Khaii is the new song in town by little known, Bartika Rai, from her new album Bimbaakash. The song is beautifully composed, rich in words, and well filmed.

This is what she has to say,

I wrote Khai for Kathmandu, at a time when I felt terribly displaced in my surrounding. I had no way to respond to my immediate environment. I wrote Khai about the people I saw in the streets of Kathmandu who still chase my thoughts. I have sung Khai for friends when all of us were hitting lows, together. I have sung Khai to myself, wandering out aloud. This song is for Kathmandu, this song is for Nepal in America and of course; like always, this song is for my people. We deserve only happiness. This is the first single of my debut album people. I hope you feel for Khai, as much as I do.
